Movies and Series — September 2019
Movies and series I’ve watched during September 2019
Once Upon a time in Hollywood (9/10)
The movie transports you through all sorts of movie generes. From westerns, comedy, car chases, thriller, action, terror and pure Tarantino gore. Good and astonishing long scenes, putting DiCaprio’s performance again at the top. Lucky me, I watched just after I finished the S2 of Mindhunters, otherwise I wouldn’t got the main theme of the movie.
Parasite (7/10)
Story of a family of impostors that got caught inside their lie. Good rhythm and well made, with an unexpected change of pace.
Yesterday (7/10)
Simple story, but effective. Great performances for an easy going movie.
Killing Eve S1 (7/10)
Dark comedy about a bored Mi5 analyst agent who tries to capture a psychopath. Except one episode that’s shockingly awful, the rest of the series is quite enjoyable.
Ad Astra (7/10)
Interesting visually. An easy and nice trip through the solar system.
Mindhunters S2 (6/10)
Slower and less engaging compared with S1. Well made series.
Spiderman far from home (6/10)
Not as good as the first one. Still not as bad as expected for a Marvel movie after the end of the Avengers.
Dawn of the dead 1979 (5/10)
Zombie apocalyptic film. I’m sure it was shocking and amazing when it was released. Now feels slow and cheap.
X-Men — The Dark Phoenix (3/10)
Hard to care for any of the story or characters. I doubt they will never get close to Logan again.
The dead don’t die (3/10)
Bad in too many levels. With the cast and the money for FX, could’ve been a much better movie.
