Midsommar (10/10)
Could be the best movie in 2019. Bizarre, unsettling and very disturbing.
The Boys S01 (10/10)
After seeing the trailer I thought it would be a cheap comedy with bad actors, but resulted in a fantastic dark drama with an amazing cast in a world where superheroes are employed by corporations. Recommended after all the Disney flood of superhero movies and series. Soundtrack also top.
Spider-man, into the spider-verse (9/10)
Amazing. It’s been a while since I enjoyed something this good. Could’ve easy-won best movie for the Oscars 2019, not only the best animation picture. I enjoyed every moment from this comic came to live, literally.
Chernobyl (9/10)
Amazingly well-made series about the Chernobyl accident.
Black Mirror S4E01 — USS Callister (9/10)
Intense story of a VR video game based on the original Star Trek series and the USS Enterprise.
Stranger Things S3 (9/10)
Fantastic 3rd season. More interesting and well written than the second part of the series. Has a good balanced feeling through all the different stories. Good performance of all the kids. Eleven still has some room to improve. Loved the references to Terminator, Back to Future, Never ending story…
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (9/10)
The movie transports you through all sorts of movie genres. From westerns, comedy, car chases, thriller, action, terror and pure Tarantino gore. Good and astonishing long scenes, putting DiCaprio’s performance again at the top. Lucky me, I watched just after I finished the S2 of Mindhunters, otherwise, I wouldn’t got the main theme of the movie.
Succession S2 (9/10)
Again, amazing. Succession is like watching an accident about to happen. You can’t turn your eyes from it. Brutal portrait of a family who owns a multi conglomerate media business.
Joker 2019 (9/10)
Phoenix resurrects DC from the ashes and lifts Joker to the skies with the best performance of the year. Sorry, DiCaprio, this is not your year, again.
Watchmen 2019 (9/10)
Lovely and bizarre. Wasn’t sure if I will enjoy it as the movie was a disappointment, but it blow my mind. Strong, dark, shocking. Amazing soundtrack and great characters to build a nice story. Need to watch the movie before.
The Mandalorian S1 (9/10)
Wonderful and surprisingly well-made spin-off. Easy going episodes with all the effects and production of a StarWars movie. It has a feeling to the old Star Trek series, where each episode is a different tiny adventure.
